Out of milk!

It came upon us suddenly, somehow, though the supply in the freezer dwindled and dwindled over the past two months.  But we have no more frozen milk, and I have a 10 month old who equates formula with an exorcism.  Also, I'm pumping almost the same times I always did, but since she eats so much more solid food, instead of the 8-9 oz I used to get before, it is only 4-5 oz.  That means she barely has any milk during the day.  Of course, for month 3-6 she also had barely any milk during days I worked (being the cute little bottle-rejector she always was), but I also worked far fewer days a week.  How bad bad bad is it really to feed cows' milk before 12 months?  I was reading that her intestines could bleed.  But truly, how bad is it?  As a supplement to the milk bar while I'm not home?

Hi Bisous - I haven't commented in a while...  Baby Bisous is adobrable.  I don't really have any ideas on the milk issues, seeing as I don't have kids...  could you give her plain rice milk?

Or try the soy formula.  But I don't think giving her milk at this age is going to make her intestines bleed, I really think they blow that stuff WAY, WAY out of proportion... but with the 2nd child, you break more rules and are way more relaxed.  I haven't given Amber full milk yet either, but I'm sure I'll will do a sneak peek fairly soon.

Yeah, my Dad says he was given whole cow's milk with added corn syrup as a baby - the old fashioned formula.  His intestines are all squared away, as far as I know.   I may wait until 11 months.  I was also reading that fortified soy milk can be started earlier (rice milk isn't fatty enough, so I've read anyway).  She's still going to breastfeed, so it's not like she'll be going without infant formulated stuff entirely.  It would just be 4-5 oz during the day when I work.  Then I wouldn't have to pump.  yippie!
